This pillow and matching mat have helped me to create a sanctuary in the spare bedroom. 3-4 nights a week; after the kids are home and dinner is done - I retreat to my sanctuary/ yoga room for a few stolen minutes of bliss. I first bought this pillow and then came back to buy the matching acupressure mat (will leave a review for that too). If you're thinking of purchasing an acupressure mat or pillow - I highly, highly recommend this one from Spikeology vs the cheaper ones on Amazon. The craftsmanship, the linen material, the shade of grey - all perfection! Just one more thing - my husband wanted to have his own too, so he bought a non branded one from Amazon. It's no where near as good, the spikes feel a lot cheaper (a bit like a toy) and the colour just isn't as nice.

Before buying this mat, I had seen one in a gadget shop on holiday. This one from Spikeology is so so much better quality. The filling, the spikes and the material all feel very premium. I have been trying to use my mat twice a day where I can - for 5 to 10 min in the morning while doing gentle breathing exercises or meditating (or when I have a few minutes of rest during the day) and before bed, for a minimum of 20min. .  

Quality rest is extremely important to me. Due to my ME, my energy levels can rapidly dip down at any point of the day - and the mat always gives me little bursts of energy, making me feel more refreshed.

In the evenings, it makes my sleep so much better. Sometimes, I put it onto my pillow so I can use it for my neck and the bottom of my head (I hold a lot of tension in my neck and shoulders). I can definitely see the difference in quality of my sleep when I use the mat just before bedtime.  

I genuinely love using this acupressure mat – within minutes of using it, I can feel a gentle warmth spreading through my skin and body. A feeling of calmness follows. Eventually, I feel completely relaxed and tension free.

Yes, this does look awfully PAINFUL 😓 and when I first tried it out a couple of weeks ago, I honestly thought that lying down, bare flesh, full body weight was going to be impossible but I promise you, after a few nights of watching Love Island (no judgement, please 😜) to distract me, this acupressure mat has become The Best Thing in terms of relaxation, repair and recovery - just what I need with all my crazy London marathon training.

I’ve had acupuncture once in my life, after suffering from sciatica after having my second born. After six sessions of needles, all down my back, something nauseating started to happen on the 7th session - SO VERY WEIRD - but the treatment worked, it totally freed up my pain and overnight, it completely disappeared.

While this acupressure mat won’t actually puncture skin (so I could share it with Mr Husband if I wanted to 😏😂) it creates a similar sensation to needles and I’m all for the effortlessness of having it in the home, on tap, ready to roll out 🙏🏽

Love this pillow! Being new to this kind of product, I wasn't completely sure what to expect before trying it. I was worried I might find it painful! But I'm a total convert. I love to use it for short bursts throughout the day (when I remember to take a break from the desk!) and also propped behind my head when sitting on the sofa. Might sound strange but I like the sensation of the spikes on the top of my head, feels like a comb on the scalp and is great for relieving tension. I also like to use it before bed listening to a nice sleep story or chill out music - really sets me up for a good night's sleep. Definitely recommend anyone thinking of getting one to try it out and see how it works best for you. The fabric is great quality and I love the colour too. When I'm not using it, it looks fab on my bed!

This mat has been a Godsend! I have restless legs syndrome. In practice that means that when it flares up my legs start 'pinching' me from inside out and the only way to relieve this feeling is to constantly move them. Even when I am knackered I can't stop moving my legs. This happens during the day and at night. Hence I don't get much sleep and I'm always tired. It was one of these nights that I ordered the spikeology mat. And it changed my life! From the first day I used it , I was able to sleep through the night! I now use it at least 4 times a day when my legs are starting to feel a bit restless and it has made such a difference in my daily life! From sleep , to having family meals ( nope - I could not sit at the table for dinner - had to keep moving) , to exercise ( I couldn't do pilates / yoga. Had to do a hiit session first for my legs to release and then I could be as still as pilates or yoga required me to be), to enjoying a pic nic with friends ( you guessed it - couldn't sit down!) .It provides a massive relief for my legs and a bit of me time as I need to stop and sit down doing nothing. Bliss! Thank you Spikeology for giving me back my sleep, enabling me to not be held back from my legs and giving me some 'me' time!

I'm so pleased that I took the plunge and got myself the pillow and the mat! I have a fairly active lifestyle (cycling/climbing/hiking/yoga) and can feel a bit tense and creaky. I use the mat mainly on my back, calves, and feet, it's such a great feeling of release and relaxation, but somehow invigorating at the same time - hard to describe! I use the pillow on my neck and also to target specific areas that feel tight, it works so well. I am really happy with my spikeology mat. I suffer from anxiety and I find using the mat daily, usually in the late afternoon most relaxing. It takes a little practise to position yourself on the mat in order to feel comfortable however the benefits are definitely worth it, I can now practically fall asleep on it. I would recommend this mat as it has so many benefits to all specific body parts and mind.
